POLICY

THE REDEMPTION CITY AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

POLICY DOCUMENT

  • PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This policy establishes the process by which the winners of the various award categories are selected. The aim of this is to ensure that we have a fair and transparent nomination, sorting and selection process.

It is the responsibility of the Award committee to plan, execute, monitor and facilitate the entire award process and in such a manner that will be clearly understood by Redemption City dwellers.

  • DEFINITIONS

Nomination

Within the context of this document, Nomination is the process where Redemption City dwellers formally suggest their preferred candidate for a particular category. The Nomination process involves the nominator stating in detail reasons why their candidate should win in that category.

Sorting

This is the process whereby the Award Committee goes through all the nominations to check the authenticity and consistency of the responses. Afterwards, nominees will be selected from each category.

NB: Selection at this level will not be determined by the number of nominations but by the authenticity of the nominators’ form feedback and responses based on predetermined criteria.

Judging

At this stage, the 7(seven) judges shall independently and without any bias whatsoever verify each nominee to determine, based on the nominators’ feedback, who by all standards should emerge the winner.

  • PROCEDURES
  1. The award categories will be put out for Redemption City dwellers to nominate their preferred candidate.
  2. They will be required to fill the nomination form.
  3. Priority will be given to nominations from residents in the city.
  4. Nominations without concrete information and reasons will be given lesser priority.
  5. The list of nominees in each category will be filtered down by the judges to three finalists.
  6. Selection of the finalist depends more on the quality of nominations than on the number of nominations a candidate receives.
  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  1. 7(seven) judges will be appointed to carry out the judging process.
  2. Judges will select the winner of each category based on predetermined criteria.
  3. The decisions of the Judges are independent of the organisers of the awards
  4. Judges are required to independently verify each nominee and will not have access to the information and data from nominators
  5. The City Breed Excellence Award is not up for nomination. Seven individuals in the City will be selected by the Judges to be recipients of the Awards. This selection will be based on predetermined criteria, however, it is not open to all.
